When a Busy Life Leaves No Time to Plan

Danny and Jen are busy parents with young children and a strong sense of what matters: family, experiences, and enjoying life today. Danny was recently promoted to a corporate executive role, significantly increasing their household income. Jen stays home with the kids, helping keep everything else running smoothly.

They knew they needed a financial plan but didn’t have the time—or energy—to manage it all on their own. Between work, family life, and travel, money management kept falling to the bottom of the list.

Our Process and Approach

In our first conversations with Danny and Jen, we learned their income had doubled in the past five years—and their lifestyle had grown with it. We dug deeper to gain an understanding of what drove their decisions about money and found that they both grew up in lower/middle-income households where they had loving families, but money was tight at times.

They mentioned the importance of providing experiences for their children that they did not have when they were growing up. As we discussed their values, we came to the conclusion that time with family and friends was more important than anything else.

Danny and Jen are both educated and highly motivated people who work hard and want to enjoy the fruits of their labor—including family travel and the idea of a future beach house. They understand that proper planning is the only way to enjoy the life they want for the long haul.

They enjoy having a financial planner who is able to quickly address any life changes that come their way.

A Plan That Keeps Family at the Center

Holding on to their core values was super important to them, but they also knew they had the income to live a great lifestyle. Our conversations helped clarify what that balance looked like, between living well today and preparing for tomorrow.

We built a plan focused on their most important relationships, with room to adapt as life inevitably changes. Their spending and investment strategy now supports both their long- and short-term goals, giving them the freedom to be present with their kids, pursue big dreams like a vacation home, and know they’re making smart decisions for the future.
